Participation in sports and recreational activities helps students learn sportsmanship, teamwork, cooperation and fair play. Each season Glenview fields intermural teams to compete with teams from both public and private schools in the area. Often students who never had the opportunity to play organized sports in their home school districts will blossom on the Glenview court and field.
Intramural sports, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, and softball provide an opportunity for students to develop discipline, sportsmanship and appreciation of one another's talents and skills. Recreational activities including bowling, swimming and skating, in addition to giving students an opportunity to enjoy a change of pace, allow them to develop their skills in lifelong activities.
Less structured school sponsored activities such as checker tournaments, poster contests, and field days provide students more informal, relaxing opportunities for students to interact with one another. Chess at Glenview includes both instruction and opportunities to play at tournaments with students from other schools.
A variety of club activities are available on Friday afternoons. Students sign up for the club of their choice and may switch club choices several times throughout the school year.
