Student Life - Nutrition

Glenview Academy has adopted a Wellness & Nutrition Policy in accordance with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Nutrition Program and the N.J. Department of Agriculture guidelines for school breakfast, lunch and after school snack programs. We are committed to providing only healthy and nutritious foods that meet the nutrition guidelines. Exceptions to our Wellness & Nutrition Policy include food and beverages served during special celebrations provided by parents, such as student birthday parties and holiday celebrations. We do, however, encourage parents to send healthy alternatives for celebrations. This policy does not apply to medically-authorized special needs diets, school nurses using foods of minimal nutritional value (FMNVs) during the course of providing health care to individual students, or special needs students who’s IEP indicates the use of particular foods for behavior modification.

Breakfast and lunch are available to students on a free, reduced or full price basis according to family income. Applications for free and reduced meals are made available upon acceptance. Parents also have the option of providing their child’s own lunch.
